Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is the only approved and recognised professional dental course in India. It is undergraduate degree of 5 years which trains students to enter the noble profession of Dental Science and Surgery. It is considered one of the most popular and pursued courses after MBBS in India.
There are 26773 dental seats over 300 dental colleges in India. The career opportunities include Dentist, Dentist Assistant, Oral Surgery, Prosthodontist.
BDS is a graduation program to become a dental surgeon. The program covers various aspects of dental problems denture and surgery in the same field. Candidates who have successfully completed the 5 year course are also awarded the title of "Dr" and can practice dentistry once they acquired the license. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Minimum Qualification required for BDS : 10+2 (Chem, Bio, Physics)
- Minimum marks required for BDS :
50% (General Category),
40% (Reserved Category)
- Minimum age required : 17 years
- Upper age limit for BDS: 25 years
- The biggest and nationally acceptance exam is NEET.
