INTRODUCTION

The Faculty of Management Studies of the University of Delhi prepared the first syllabus for MBA in India for any Indian college in the year 1968.

B-schools, colleges, and institutes offer this MBA course to graduates which is a professional course. ‘MBA in India’ can be a correspondence, full time, part time or long distance course. Including internships and semesters, the usual duration of a typical MBA course is two years.

There are different types of MBA in India, and those are Full-time MBA, Part-Time MBA, One Year MBA, Evening MBA, Modular MBA, and Executive MBA (EMBA).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • An equivalent Bachelor's degree (3-4 years) course. 
  • Minimum age must be 21 years.
  • Basic knowledge of English is must.
  • Minimum 60% academic score is needed for Indian students.
  • Some Universities conduct their own Entrance Exam for MBA admissions.
  • A valid score in any of the Management Entrance Exams such as GMAT, NMAT, ATMA, MAT.

ELIGIBILITY

MBA DURATION IN INDIA

DURATION

  • Full time MBA programs can have a duration of 1-2 years. There can also be programs which are of duration shorter than 1 year.
  • In  part-time MBA programs, Students study and work at the same time and thus the duration of such programs can be extended up to 3 years.
  • The course 'Evening MBA' is exactly like regular MBA course with duration of 2 years, only the difference is the classes are conducted in second half.

  3. Based on score obtained in the Entrance Exam, a merit list is prepared.
  4. On selection of the candidate, he/she is called for the counselling session according to the ranks secured.
  5. During the counselling session, a candidate is free to choose any of the colleges.
  6. Candidates can then deposit the tuition fees, visit the selected college and begin with the MBA course.
